  In December 2008 we crossed Egypt’s Arabian Desert from Red Sea to River Nile on foot. Alone, without escort vehicle or other help, just with backpack, tent and sleeping bag. Barely 250 km (155 miles) in ten days. Soft sand, mountains, 42° C (108° F) heat in daytime, 5° C (41° F) at night. Adventure, strain, and unique personal experience. See the hike pictures here.
